THEATRE THERAPY

This  class is born from the experience of the director Adele Caprio, who has been working for 20 years in show business and has combined this experience with her studies in Psychology. How many of us have always had a passion for acting, for public relations, mass media, expressive movement and singing and have never taken this passion out of our home? Knowing how to give an interpretation of a character, how to write a text, how to talk in public or move in a harmonious way: these are needs that are born deep inside us and often remain unsatisfied because we don’t know how to go about learning the techniques in order to develop these natural gifts. The Theatre Therapy class is based on the Improvisation Technique, which is very creative and brings us straight to the unconscious. Improvisation has a holistic approach to the individual because it works on the physical, mental and emotional level. Our psyche which usually suffers because of the stresses of modern life is in this way given an important chance:  to explore  new characters, in whose clothes we can discover an unexplored part of our selves. Once we have become aware of previously unknown parts of our personality we can start to channel our many talents so that we can enlarge our awareness;  this will enable us to live our daily lives in a more fulfilled way. Theatre therapy is especially beneficial for those who have lived life, with all its problems; we are able to bring these problems to the ‘stage’, examine them clearly and in this way gain valuable insight. If the group gains a shared experience than we can go on to form this in a play and put it on stage.
