PAINTING
When
you talk about culture in general, you can not
disregard the fine arts, which are, after all the best method of
expression that children use instinctively in the first years of their lives.
Aside
the therapeutic purpose that is already described in our class for Art therapy
we have thought of a workshop for children in which they can explore the
profound connection between painting and nature. The class is structured on
three levels based on the three different types of materials we study: paper,
wood and stone. As our painter Mrs. Marina Fantera says, the stone has already
a’ soul ‘ in it that you have only
to pull out. All of a sudden fawns,
owls, fish, dogs, cats and bears appears…all simply outlined with a few strokes
of colors and suggested by the form of the stone itself. Here is the place
where you can give space to the child’s creativity and to all of the
emotions he associates with these
animals he meets on a daily basis. The use of color educates him about beauty
and harmony, feeding his young soul. At the end of the class we will organize a
show of the works of the young artists,
a moment of happiness and a way to share feelings of joy with the adults.
