ECOLOGY EDUCATION

The problem of trash has recently come to the fore, so much so that in some areas of Italy even the army has intervened. The European Council has seriously asked to our government to solve the problem. It is logical to believe the ‘ecological problem’ has a thought-form must absolutely be changed  to guarantee the survival of humanity on our planet. What do we need to do? It’s easy: we have to educate ourselves and educate others to respect the environment  because we are the environment. We can no longer believe that we can simply  keep our house clean and throw our trash out our door… because even outside our door is our house. The streets, the woods, the meadows, the cities…everywhere is our house and we must have for these places the same respect and care that we have for the small boxes we are living in. In spite of the fact that the responsibility for what is happening falls only on adults, it is vital that we teach to our children a different vision of the facts, so they will become more aware of their environment. It is for this reason that we have devised small but meaningful events like cleaning a public park, reading stories and starting discussions, bring the children to visit archeological sites so that they understand the value and the sense of respect for and of belonging to their land and so they will feel that they fit perfectly into the great life of our planet.
