The Center of Human Ecology “The Clouds” was born on September  24th 2007 (Libra risingsign Sagittarius, Moon in Aquarius) as a meeting place for heterogeneous people, linked by a common interest in culture and well-being in a territory with much unexplored potential. Not too far from Rome, where one can derive endless cultural resources, and yet not too near to Rome that its rural and culturally-aware identity is contaminated, Civita Castellana is situated in a very strategic position. The ceramic products of its industries make up 40% of Italy’s national production and the inhabitants can be proud of their cultural and historical background, descendents of a population called the Falisci, whose sophisticated culture far predated that of Imperial Rome. The wild landscape and the beauty of this archeological area are true attractions for Italians and foreigners alike, who often decide to settle in this fabulous corner of Alto Lazio. The visits of Mozart and Goethe are well documented and today, as in previous centuries, Civita is the crossroads of writers and poets, painters and scenographers, actors and directors, people with very different social and cultural background who are all happy to have chosen the same spot to live. Knowing each other has given rise to a need   to find a place to meet, a place where our heterogeneity means unity and not separation, where you can have your opinions while respecting other points of view, where everybody contributes his or her unique experience of life, contributions that can enrich the already quite interesting local culture.
The motto of “The Clouds” is “Culture means Light” because without Culture there cannot be a true physical and spiritual well-being. Every one of us brings a proposal, discovers inside the group his "role" or function and a way to give his personal contribution to the association; a contribution that evolves from the daily work of getting to know ourselves deeper and deeper day after day.
We have begun Yoga classes and we meet for poetry reading sessions on Sunday at tea-time. Gradually we will delve deeper working on our self-awareness and we will study our psychological types during Astrology classes. We visit local schools bringing our puppets to make presentations on Ethics and once a year, we will organize a World Peace Convention. Our association warmly welcomes anyone who is genuinely interested in the subjects we propose. Every contribution is precious because, as everybody knows, participation is the real goal!
